Innovation Fellow speaks at AI conference

West of Scotland Innovation Hub Fellow Dr Ana Talbot will be presenting at a University of Glasgow conference this week.

The AI in Pervasive Well-Being and Healthy Ageing event will also feature keynote speakers from the field, looking at the impact on AI on diagnostics and remote interventions in frailty.

It aims to bring together academics, industry and NHS organisations with the goal to highlight opportunities for collaboration.

Dr Talbot, Consultant in Older Adult Medicine in NHS Lanarkshire who has been working on a number of related innovation projects with the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde hosted Innovation Hub, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the work being carried out through the West of Scotland Innovation Hub.

“I’ll be outlining the work done in falls prevention in older people and illustrate how the application of research in innovation can have a positive effect on patient care.

“I’ll also be able to explain how innovation fits in to, and supports, the wider aspirations of the NHS by talking about my experience of being part of the first cohort of Innovations Fellows in Scotland.”

Keynote speakers include Professor Anne Hendry, Professor Athanasios Tsanas and Dr Gordon Waiter.

The workshop is being hosted by the University of Glasgow on Thursday, June 29. For full details and registration see the university's website.
