Translation for Impact: Bringing healthcare innovation to life during Glasgow Tech Week
The West of Scotland Innovation Hub will welcome innovators, clinicians, researchers, students and industry partners to a special Glasgow Tech Week event showcasing how collaboration is helping turn promising ideas into real-world improvements in healthcare.
Translation for Impact: MedTech, Data and Innovation in the West of Scotland will bring together experts from across the NHS, academia and industry to share practical examples of innovation in action and explore opportunities to work together to improve patient care.
The event is being delivered by the West of Scotland Innovation Hub in partnership with the University of Glasgow and collaborators from across the region.
Taking place at the University of Glasgow's Wolfson Medical School Building, the event will shine a spotlight on successful projects that demonstrate how research can be translated into solutions that make a difference for patients, services and communities.
Attendees will hear about innovations spanning medical technologies, digital health, artificial intelligence and data-driven healthcare, while gaining insight into the journey from early development and validation through to adoption within the NHS.
The programme will include keynote talks and panel discussions featuring leaders from healthcare, academia and industry, alongside interactive demonstrations showcasing emerging technologies and innovations.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with organisations working at the forefront of health innovation and discover practical routes for collaboration with NHS and academic partners.
In the afternoon, they will be able to choose from a series of breakout sessions focused on key areas including healthcare innovation, working effectively with the NHS, and developing the skills needed to support the future of the MedTech and digital health sectors.
The event will also highlight the new MSc in MedTech Innovation, demonstrating how education, research and industry can work together to build the next generation of healthcare innovators.
Rasheeq Syed, Innovation Project Manager with the West of Scotland Innovation Hub, said: "Bringing together expert voices from different fields, around a shared ultimate goal - that's how we innovate.
